Biography

Steve is a pilot from the UK who has been fascinated by free flight since his teenage years. He studied engineering and worked for six years as a stress engineer in the aviation industry, which also helped him fund his passion for paragliding. Now, he’s lucky enough to work full-time in the paragliding industry, combining his technical experience with his love for flight.

When and what inspired you to start paragliding?:
After taking a tandem flight in Fiesch while on a family holiday when I was 14
What are your favorite flying spots?:
On a good day, The Lake District, UK
What is your best flight or adventure?:
Best flight, UK Declared Triangle record, 135km.

What do you like most about flying?:
I like everything about flying, so I can’t pick just one.
Why do you want to be part of the GIN team?:
The first wing I flew was a Gin Bolero, so it’s nice to come full circle
What are your objectives for the next two years?:
My objectives for the next 2 years are to learn as much as possible about paraglider design from Gin
What advice would you give to new pilots?
My advice to new pilots is to fly as much as possible. There’s no secret to success
