Gin Dragon Hike & Fly Celebrates Its 10th Edition in South Wales
The UK’s largest hike and fly event returned to the mountains of South Wales for its 10th edition, with Gin Gliders supporting the competition as title sponsor.
Originally established by Ali Crick Howell, the event was organised this year by a dedicated team of hike and fly pilots from SEWHGPGC, ensuring the continuation of one of the UK’s most established hike and fly races.
Competitors raced across the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog, combining demanding sections on foot with strategic flying decisions. Thanks to an integrated live-tracking system provided by PureTrack, followers were able to watch the race unfold in real time throughout the event.
Jacob Aubrey secured victory after two days of racing, combining strong hiking and flying performances throughout the event. Tom Webb finished in second place, with Tom Hodgkin completing the podium in third.
As event sponsor, Gin Gliders was pleased to support the competition and the growing hike and fly community. The overall winner received a Gin Camino 2, a wing designed for hike and fly adventures.
