Gin Team completes X-Pyr 2026 with the new Puma 2

Six Gin team pilots took on the 2026 X-Pyr with the new Puma 2, putting our latest hike & fly competition wing to the test across the Pyrenees.

The seventh edition of the X-Pyr once again delivered one of the toughest challenges in hike & fly competition. Covering nearly 530 km across the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, the race demanded endurance, decision-making and consistency from every athlete throughout the week.
Following the announcement of our X-Pyr team earlier this season, six Gin pilots lined up at the start flying the new Puma 2, the EN D wing developed specifically for high-level hike & fly competition.

Following an exceptionally hot start and light, stable flying conditions in the western Pyrenees, progress during the opening stages was measured as pilots combined long sections on foot with careful flights. Strong morning winds and afternoon thunderstorms on the second day added another layer of complexity, before two outstanding flying days allowed much of the field to cross the central Pyrenees under cloudbases reaching around 4,000 metres. The final stages saw the leading pilots push towards the Mediterranean coast, where precise final flights and the traditional walk to the finish line completed another memorable edition of the X-Pyr.

Three of our pilots successfully completed the full course. Guilhem Mobé finished in 14th place after 4 days, 5 hours and 13 minutes, followed by Stanislav Mayer in 19th after 4 days, 6 hours and 51 minutes, and Aner Bueno in 24th after 4 days, 8 hours and 21 minutes. Antonio Ramos also reached the finish, placing 31st after 5 days and 23 minutes.

Benoit Brunet-Poirier covered 475 km before the race came to an end for him, while Gabriela Avagian completed 185.5 km during her first X-Pyr campaign with Gin.

The event provided an invaluable opportunity to further validate the Puma 2 in one of the world’s most demanding hike & fly races. Developed in close collaboration with our competition pilots, the wing proved its capabilities throughout a week of long flights, technical terrain and constantly changing mountain conditions.

Congratulations to all our pilots for taking on this extraordinary challenge.
