Reflections...
High in the French Pyrenees a griffon vulture circles up close to me. Studying his expertise as he manipulates the air, it's a privileged moment to reflect on the ten years I've played this game. His path, like mine, is uncertain. Diminishing habitat and rising levels of pollution threaten his existence; My worry is purely fiscal.
The rising cost of life, the ease and cost of digital photography that allows even the untrained and unskilled snepper to capture the occasional fantastic image. The world of paragliding photography has changed and I must change with it, but wich the roads ahead should I take? Should I continue to live the troubadour life of a nomadic photographer, or surrender to the wheels of normal everyday life and a 'real' job?
