Petra Slívová

Double World Champion Petra Slívová joined the GIN team in 2011 following a break in her illustrious paragliding career. She explains:

"In 2008 and 2009, I had to take some time off after my second World Championship title. Competition demands a huge personal investment, we travel a lot and it's wearing. At that time, I needed something else outside paragliding...Matej my son arrived."

On her return to competition in late 2009, Petra was soon back on top of the podiums. She won her 3rd European Championship in 2010 before going on to win the PWC Superfinal in Turkey. She explains what motivated her to return.

"I've always liked to share amazing moments of adventure with international competition pilots. It's a bit like my second family. Today, I'm going to fly in the spirit of friendship above all else. The titles have become secondary. I want to make myself happy in the air and fly intuitively, without calculating. "

Being a happy mum and an accomplished pilot is a life that suits her.

"As for my choice to join GIN, it was very simple. I have a long term affinity with Gin Seok, and also with my best enemy in the air at the time and very good friend in life, Louise Crandal."

Happy and safe flights this season, Petra.
