2015 Paragliding World Cup - Baixo Guandu, Brazil: Task 2 report

Frank Brown reports on the action from task 2 in Brazil:

"The forecast was predicting a good day, 2000 m agl cloud base and 5 m/s thermals. The day wasn't that good, but it was a super day with more than 50 pilots at goal in the 85km task.

Just in the beginning was a very nice group with our team flying together, me Michael Sigel and Torsten,

Until the middle of the task we were in the leading group but we made a huge transition just in between two cycles, which was hell for us !

We were passed by the chasing group, lead by Rafael Saladini, flying another Boom 10 !

And on the final crazy leg of about 16 km until goal, coming from behind we could choose a very good line straight to goal half of them full speed, and we could pass almost everybody!

Was super fun to cross the goal line in second position a few seconds behind the Rafael Saladini the task winner, and we both crossed the goal line with just 5m! Affffff!

Overall results after 2 tasks:
