마티아스 로텐(Mathias Roten)은 진글라이더 본사의 R&D팀에 가장 최근에 합류한 파일럿입니다. 마티아스는 하늘의 기류와 공기에 대한 특별한 감각을 가졌습니다. "그는 하늘과 자연적이고 원초적인 관계를 가진 것 같다"고 디자이너 송진석은 말합니다. 이것은 진글라이더 테스트 파일럿에 합류할 수 있는 훌륭한 이유가 됩니다!!

마티아스는 2001년 처음 월드컵에 출전한 이후 2003년 그란몬타나(Cran Montana)에서 열린 월드컵에서 6위를 차지했으며, 작년 버티고(Vertigo)대회에서 3위를 차지한 뛰어난 묘기비행 파일럿이기도 합니다. 스위스 태생이며, 25살인 그는 1995년부터 비행을 하기 시작했으며 곧 묘기비행을 하기 시작하여 2001년에는 처음으로 묘기비행대회에 출전 하였습니다.

Mathias’ glider is rarely above his head, which is always wearing a beanie! He’s cool on the ground but dynamic in the air, easy to recognize but difficult to catch! His hobbies outside paragliding include hang gliding, kitesurfing, travelling and playing his drums. He is one of the GIN kite Teamriders and spends 2-3 months in a year kitesurfing.

Our great friend, Mathias Roten lost his life doing what he loves, not far from his home in Switzerland, the 7th of March 2008. We will always remember his beautiful smile, relaxed attitude and faithfulness to his friends. Mathias lived life to the full and played hard. Our thoughts are with his parents, his brother and sister Lorenz and Valerie, and his friends around the world. We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss.
